Justin, I also have the 1220C got it used and it was a mess. I cleaned everythig with Isopropyl alcohol, particularly all the rubber rollers. This is not easy, you will need long tweezers or similar. After all the alcohol evaporated, I cleaned the rubber rollers with 'rubber renue' (made bt MG Chemicals) avialbel at electronic supply stores. The stuff smell bad, so plan to use it in open air. After that, the printer works great.
