If your printhead icon continues to flash, pull it and clean the contacts, both of the head and in the printer itself, with a non-shedding paper towel. The manual actually suggests a coffee filter for this. If necessary, you can dampen the filter/towel before cleaning. Then make sure the head is seated firmly. I don;t have the manual here (I'm at home, it's at work), but that's what I recall from dealing with a head a few weeks ago.
