I strongly recommend -against- using alcohol on ink. The alcohol will replace any water in the ink gunk, then dry quickly, leaving an even harder to remove debris.
I also strongly recommend -against- paper towels. Paper is abrasive, and those gold plated nozzles are fragile. Get a microfiber cloth meant for cleaning optics, you can rinse it out and keep using it.
