First post here for me. I find it interesting about the Vivera ink. I had an older 130 that died and HP finally replaced it with a
brand new when the on site tech could not fix the old. The new one says
Vivera right on front. There is also an Energy Star sticker. I have become "good
friends" with the HP guys in my area. I am gonna call them tomorrow.

I don't understand why a rep from HP would contradict all the advertising they run, plus the specifications listed on their web site, AND (as you correctly state) the decal on the printer itself identifying the printer as a Vivera printer. I'm alarmed to hear that these dyes are so unstable that they fade when exposed to sunlight. The main reason I purchased the DJ 130 was for HP claims of saturated colors that can only be achieved with dyes and their assertions of the exceptional longevity of Vivera inks. There is even a link to Wilhelm Research on the HP site which directs the reader to the very positive tests results achieved with Vivera inks,

Odd indeed.

I have been lurking on this chat and have gained so many wonderful
tips... hopefully someone out there can help on this one!

I am an artist doing limited edition prints, and have been really
please with the quality I can achieve with my DJ. But I have just
checked my first prints and they have faded miserably... They were
hanging on a wall out of direct sun and when I saw them compared to a
fresh print I got really bummed. I can't feel good about selling
prints that fade so fast with the inks the DJ shipped with.I just
spoke to the a rep at HP and they told me Vivera inks are not
available for the DJ 130. My unit even has the Vivera ink logo inside
the door of the cartridge compartment, so I wonder if this is correct
info. Where/how can I get a lightfast ink... is there a spray or
something to help.

Thanks,
