I just received a Z3100 44" printer last week and while it works flawlessly under MAC OSX it was simply unusable under windows XP. Maybe it was just me, but even with the current drivers and firmware the windows driver would simply not function properly. Changing paper sizes was tricky at best and impossible using 44" rolls of paper. Anytime I tried to print large jobs it would totally crash the computer. I am amazed that the driver was so finicky on a $6k+ printer. The driver that came on the CD delivered with the printer was even worse. The mac driver and software on the CD worked perfectly the first time so I haven't had to upgrade it.
Vista is not an option with all of its problems so it gave me a good excuse to switch my office computer to a MAC pro. :) Windows driver aside, the Z3100 is an impressive machine. Managing custom paper, ICC profiles, and color calibration is a snap. --- Edward J.
