I'm just and amateur compared to a lot of people on this group, so some people could probably give you a better technical answer than I can. But I think I do have a clear explanation for why you aren't getting a profile when from the DJ130. The DJ130 calibrates color to specific papers. But this process is only an internal calibration to make sure ink is laying down correctly. In my opinion, it's a great feature of this printer. But just because the HP130 can calibrate itself doesn't mean it can generate a profile (though I agree, it would be a great added feature to have it automatically profile itself after calibrating itself. So, you can download some else's profile or use a separate profiling system to create a profile for the printer, just like any other printer. The self calibrating is not the same as creating a profile. As much as it seems there is some overlap in the process, some (most?) printers completely separate the calibration function from the profile function. BTW, I seem to be one of the rare people who has had great success with the uncorrected sRGB color to the CJ130 (in Photoshop marking "let printer determine colors"). So in my situation, the printer seems to calibrate it self well enough that I haven't needed to use a profile to keep consisten color. The profiles I have experimented with (and created) seemed to diminish the quality and color accuracy, Website: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HPDesignJet_Printers Post message: [email protected] Subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List owner: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo!
