Hi all, I'm a newbie concerning the use of the DJ130 (just bought it two weeks ago and still doing mostly test prints with different settings to see what I like most). I also had the impression that the standard profiles are somewhat dark in the shadows (especially green darks like trees or bushes that are in the shadow).
I found some profiles at http://designjet.hennig.ca/ICC_Profiles/FreeICC_Profiles.htm that seems to be a bit better (especially for the PP satin papers). When printing from Photoshop I also make an extra levels layer with the black value of the 'output levels' (don't know the name in English, I'm using a dutch version of PhotoShop) slider at 15. This gives me satisfying results and enough details in the shadows. --> or does someone have better solutions for this (like I said, I'm a complete amateur) Something I do not understand is why so less people seems to share their custom profiles. Is it so difficult or expensive to make? It would help a lot of the newbies and amateurs to make better prints and we would appreciate it very much.
