The film is called a mono disperse film. The silver size is closely controlled during manufacturing (trade Secret). the film is Gigabyte made in Europe. I have used the gigagbit flim in both 135 size and 4x5. At the time I tried the 35mm film, Kodak was still making Technical Pan in both 35mm and 120 roll size. So I didn't get too excited at that point. Then Kodak stopped making Technical Pan Film. I had been using TP in 35mm and 120 as my standard B&W film for at least 10 years. So I ended up talking with the inventor in Germany trying to get the film imported to this Country. I will attached the data sheet that I translated into American English a few months ago. I have 4x5 film in my freezer right now. Quite frankly the 4x5 is way over kill for 4x5 shooting. 4x5 shooting is highly defraction limited. The diffraction on axis for a 1000:1 target for a f22 stop is 61 lp/mm. So our 4x5 lenses can not really benefit from all this resolution. I have taken Identical images with 4x5 T-Max and 4x5 gigabyte and at 20x24 size there is little to no difference. If you look at the prints with a 10x loupe, you can tell a dramatic difference in the grain structure. I got the 4x5 film to test the film in both 4x5 and 120 size. I cut down the film to fit in the film gate of my Pentax 67 and did some Air Force Chart tests. I was able to read 156 lp/mm at f5.6 from my Pentax 55mm f4.0 lens. This is the sharpest lens I own in MF. ( I use to test all my lenses in 35mm and MF) I have not done this with the 4x5 lenses I have collected in the last 2 years, as it is pretty pointless! I travel overseas a lot and I do not try to carry the 4x5. So 120 gigabit in my Hasselblad will really produce smooth 16x20 prints for 2x2. I travel with a hasselblad, two lenses, two backs and two finders, filters, etc., and a 4 mp digital Kodak. I can handle this at my age. Gene Crumpler
