I've use the Rollataq adhesive on masonite and foamcore, at sizes
up to 23"x46". Works just fine. Key, IMO, is to weight it down (i put
1/2" foamcore
on top of a layer of white paper on top of the mounted print, then add heavy
objects) and let it dry for 30 minutes or so before doing
any trimming.
I've got a 44" cold-mount press sitting in a warehouse that I need
to get setdup to really do this right.
I've also used 3M sprays. I'm not a spray fan, but they work.
