I even changed my ID to 3380 (just for curiosity), but this results in a communication failure which is reported by hp-sendfax. Apparently, the fax api of 3380 could be different from the 3390. I think it is likley that the physical setup is ok since faxing manually (i.e. directly from the printer, not through a computer), works great. Additionally I get nicely printed faxes, when someone sends a fax to me. On top of this, printing, faxing and scanning works perfectly when done from an Windows XP-machine on the same my network. Unfortunately I am many things but a microsoft lover ;-) > just some food for thought... > thanks for feeding me.;-) I think I should stop experimenting for now and save my hopes for the next hplip version.... > thanks for your time... > thank you very much for your great help!
