Not surprisingly, both my makeuri and yast2/printer results
looks the same, except for the device number (3390 vs. 3380) and
the IP-address. I even changed my ID to 3380 (just for
curiosity), but this results in a communication failure which is
reported by hp-sendfax. Apparently, the fax api of 3380 could be
different from the 3390.

I re-checked anything. I think it is
likley that the physical setup is ok since faxing
manually (i.e. directly from the printer, not through a
computer), works great. Additionally I get nicely
printed faxes, when someone sends a fax to me. On top of this,
printing, faxing and scanning works perfectly when done
from an Windows XP-machine on the same my network.

Unfortunately I am many things but a microsoft lover ;-)
