I'm thinking of getting an HP PSC 1410 or 1510. I'd like to know that I can make it go before buying it.
Following a suggestion on a SANE list, I followed the directions at http://hplip.sf.net/ and did not get any complaints. There did not seem to be any additional model entries for CUPS or SANE either. I checked the latter with locate sane- and with ls /usr/lib/sane/libsane-* . Before I actually buy a printer/scanner, what can I look for as evidence of success? After I get a printer/scanner, what should I tell CUPS I have? What evidence is there of a SANE backend? I'm running Fedora Core 3. Do I need to give more information? Am I asking in the wrong place? Is there a FM that I should have read? Is it just that no one knows? -- Mike [EMAIL PROTECTED] "it stands to reason that they weren't always called the ancients." -- Daniel Jackson ------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
