Hi, in contrast to what I said previously, there is still some challenge to be mastered:
After successfully installing hplip 0.9.11 and using hp-setup, there are now two queus, one for fax, one for print. I am momentarily just trying to get printing working, but the jobs are held in the queue seemingly forever. At http://localhost:631 I get:"open device failed; will retry in 30 seconds...". If I run "hp-makeuri printersipaddress" as root, nothing is found and I get the message: [ERROR]: Device not found. However, I can successfully ping the printer and my "emergency printqueue" where I use the printer with "socket://printeraddress:9100" works any time I print something. What am I missing here and what can I do to further illustrate or diagnose the problem? Your help is greatly appreciated.
