I upgraded from Slackware 11.0 to Slackware 12.0 and HPLIP stopped
working.

Printed jobs are forever in a "Processing" state and hp-toolbox gives
this:

HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 1.7.4a)
HP Device Manager ver. 6.2

hp-check reports this error:

Checking for library dependencies...
Checking for libsnmp...
  [ERROR]: Not found.

However I think it is harmless, because this component is listed on web
site as optional.

/usr/lib/cups/backend/hp gives this:

direct hp:/usb/Photosmart_C3100_series?serial=MY71ND432V04P9 "HP
Photosmart C3100 series" "HP Photosmart C3100 series USB MY71ND432V04P9

C3100 series;SN:MY71ND432V04P9;"

Printer is listed by lsusb and was seen by system when switched on:

I am out of ideas, please help.

Have a nice day.
