Hello List, does anyone know if it's possible to start hp-sendfax from OpenOffice ? What I mean is : is it possible to add a 'Fax' Printer in OpenOffice by using spadmin and use hp-sendfax as print command?
I'm using OpenSuSE 10.2, hplip-hpijs-2.7.7-21.1 and hplip-2.7.7-21.1. I used spadmin to add a 'Fax' Printer. Command to 'print' is: /usr/bin/hp-sendfax -n --gg -f(PHONE) (TMP) Once I started to print from OpenOffice to my printer ( HPOJ 7310 ) the printer dials the number, connects to the fax on the other end of the line and seems to send the first page. Waiting for several minutes nothing seems to happen. Then the connection is ended withouth successfully sending the fax. Starting hp-sendfax from command line works fine. Does anyone know what's wrong here ? Is there an alternative like using lpr and an option like the number which has to be used for dialing ? I really appreciate the work which has been done for in the hplip project the last two printers my wife and I bought were an OfficeJet D135 and HPOJ 7310. Both were bought because of the support for Linux!
