TL;DR It was a Joke. Apologies to lostnbronx.

This is very true.

The biggest brunt of this is in the form of hosting, which is kindly
provided by Josh from AnHonestHost.com and Archive.org. We would
appreciate it if you could donate to help reduce his costs in funding
the hosting. He is also accepting bitcoins to

Yes podcasting is in at the moment. But HPR was here before this wave,
and I suspect it will be here well after it. Chugging along releasing
shows every weekday Monday through Friday.

While we do thank our sponsors, we do not have advertising. The topic
has been discussed many times over the years. It would be incompatible
for the shows released as CC-BY-SA-NC. Why I don't particularly like it
is that once money is involved in a project, we would need to have
accounts, and auditing and the entire direction could be driven by
advertisers. More hassle than it's worth.

"HPR is entirely community driven. Policy decisions are proposed and
discussed on the Mailing list, which is open to anyone to join. Mailing
list discussions are brought to the attention of the listening community
on the first Monday of the month in the HPR Community News show."

Also whatever HPR LLC is they also would be missing most of the domains
because of

The others are (I think) owned by Stank Dawg, so good luck with that.

There is nothing stopping someone releasing the non CC-BY-SA-NC shows on
their own feed with advertising. If anyone wants to do this, we can
assist by providing a new filtered feed. Remember "Hacker Public Radio
is dedicated to sharing knowledge."

The link to the April Fools Series :)

I was planning on doing this on the Community News and having Dave storm
off, but as it happens he was not able to make the show.

Were Dave ever to leave we would have some serious problems. Indeed
after the DDOS attack some time ago, we have been looking into
decentralized setup. This has stalled largely due to personal issues on
my side, but I hope to be able to do some work on it soon.

We have always done something for April Fools, this was the first time
we hit the mailing list. It was fascinating to see the different
reactions and that the cultural norm different per region. After reading
the wikipedia article I'd love to hear a show about the topic.

Plus any email I send not asking for a show should automatically cause
suspicion.
