Jason sent me this privately, but I think it was meant for the list. SF
lists are run by mailman and someone with admin privs can easily change
the reply-to for this list.
cheers

I don't think so at all. We have started cleaning up the repositories and
sparked a discussion. Any changes to code can be moved anywhere so even
while we are discussing things improvements to the code can happen. I don't
think the wishes of the community can be ignored.

I think everyone is in agreement with where the project should go. Fred just
dropped me a line stating he is in agreement and asked him to try and get in
touch with Michael.
The only problem I see is if there is actually a legal entity called the
HSQLDB Development Group that is owned by Michael. If that is the case than
I see some possible problems. But I'm hoping that Fred can get hold of
Michael to answer any questions.

Certainly after the discussion here is finished, or if Michael doesn't
respond for a prolonged period of time. Everyone here pretty much agrees, I
haven't seen anyone opposed to using the mailing list or a meritocracy so I
think we just have to give Michael a chance to respond. If we as a group of
developers don't agree than we can decide what to do.
