This would be a good idea. We will probably opt for a supported hsqldb-component.jar, and keep it up-to-date as new versions of the Avalon framework and HSQLDB are developed.

We have a wrapper for hsqldb that allows it to be hosted in our Avalon containers. We need to move http://jakarta.apache.org/avalon/apps/apps/hsql/index.html away from its current location, and the new portal db.apache.org has been suggested. Whilst it is a good default place for arrival, it is also though that *this* project may also want the code. The idea would be that the code arrives as does a couple of small framwework jars it needs. The compiled bytes could arrive in the current hsqldb.jar, or go to some (optional) hsqldb-component.jar. That is, assuming you folks though this was a good idea. Thoughts?
