Did you also ./configure with the --disable-shared option? I had the same
problem with Solaris 2.8. First I did a clean compile with --without-zlib,
but rundig gave me the arithmetic error. Once I added --disable-shared, I
was able to successfully dig my site. Although occasionally, a search
(haven't spotted a pattern yet, but boolean searches often do it) yields the
Premature End of Script Headers error.
