Attribute allow_numbers *is* clearly documented in the web page you refer to
(http://www.htdig.org/dev/htdig-3.2/attrs.html).
There is no mechanism to index only words of a given length. You could set
minimum_word_length
to 4 and index only words and numbers of four or more characters.
