you could accomplish this in the manner in which your
site is organized...
say for example all your political related docs are in
the subdirectory "politics", and musical docs are in
"music" directory.
You could then pass a different configuration file in
the search form on those pages for a particular
section.
ie - <type="hidden" name="conf" value="music.conf">
would appear on music search page(s). and
"politics.conf" on the political pages.
then, in the conf files themselves you specify the url
that is indexed. http://domain.com/politics
and http://domain.com/music in their respective conf
files.
