My understanding is that the message "Copying of text from this document is not allowed" means exactly that: Adobe have a copyright protection mechanism in the PDF format, and to attempt to circumvent it will leave you liable to arrest and prosecution under U.S.A. law. Some creators of PDF documents set on copyright protection unnecessarily, so you might be able to persuade them to re-create the documents with it switched off.
The "No current point in closepath" message indicates that an error in the PDF document has been found. In my experience this does not prevent extraction of text from the document. Doc2html.pl will tell you how many bytes were extracted. -- David Adams Computing Services Southampton University ----- Original Message ----- From: "garsila Ndzmande" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, January 24, 2002 10:32 PM Subject: [htdig] rundig fails during PDF indexing > > htdig 3.1.6-011302 on SUN x86, 256 MB and lot of disk space.
