There is a patch to ht://Dig in order to log searches into a file,
independently of syslog facility.

Look here : ftp://ftp.ccsf.org/htdig-patches/3.1.6/ for
"AdjustableLoggingPatch".

You should also give a look to htdigalizer located
http://www.htdig.org/files/contrib/scripts/. This script may be useful.
