I'm sure this question has been asked before, but 5000+ archives are just too many to look through...
I downloaded and installed htdig-3.1.6-0.rh72.i386.rpm and htdig-web-3.1.6-0.rh72.i386.rpm for my RedHat 7.2 distribution. The config file resides in /etc/htdig/ and it automatically set the start_url, the limit_urls_to and the local_user_urls attributes from my Apache config files. At first I did not make any changes to the htdig config file. I ran rundig to create my database, then tested htdig from my browser. The search function works, but is limited to this directory only: http://localhost/manual/ (/var/www/html/manual/) The database did not pickup any other subdirectories of /var/www/html, nor did it pick up what I'm really wanting to use the search application for, the local user directory: /home/user/public_html/ I tried adding these to the config file: local_urls_only: true local_default_doc: default.html default.htm index.html index.htm among others. Each time I rerun the rundig command, I then get errors DB2 errors (string not defined or something...) How do I get the local user directories /home/user/public_html/ to get extracted into the database? I'm not a system administrator nor a programmer, just an end-user, who happens to like linux over windows. I've setup a small lan in the home for gaming and learning/study purposes. The web server, is for personal study data that I would like to expand its use with the search capabilities. Thanks for your time and assistance? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
