Hi Brian,

What scripting languages are available on your server?
I know for definite you could create a PHP script to work with NNTP via the
IMAP module (http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.imap.php,
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.imap-open.php).
However, the IMAP module may need compiling into PHP (on a *nix system),
which is a little bit of extra work to achieve. It's easier on a Windows
system, as you just need to configure the php.ini file.

>From there, however, you should be able to write a PHP script to generate
the pages that you want.

However, it might be easier installing mailman. :)~

Regards,

Ru

Subject: [htdig] Newsgroup searchability

I'm setting up htdig to index our internal development site, which
includes some static pages, a twiki (wiki), and newsgroups. Indexing
the static pages and twiki should be no-brainers. I wonder if anyone
has a clever way to get the twiki to see newsgroups, though.

I was thinking of installing mailman (a mailing list server with
web-based list archives) and adding a mail<->news gateway to bridge
nntp and http, but that seems to be a very roundabout way of doing
this.
