Indexing into framesets is an almost impossible tricky business, especially
with less-than-perfect site design. For our university websites, with over
150 different web developers, it would be impossible to "guess" to which
frameset a particular page belongs, with all of the mis-targeted links that
abound. Instead, for our high-profiles pages that use framesets, I use
javascript headers within each page to re-create the frameset if they are
loaded from a search engine. If you would like more information on this
technique, I will be happy to give pointers to help you avoid the major
pitfalls of this technique.
