Kitty resort makes for purr-fect weekend getaway
SANTA CRUZ, California (CNN) -- The cats in the house where Colleen Hughes lives are paying guests. Or at least their owners are. Hughes manages Kitty Hill, a kennel for cats that calls itself a resort -- with good reason.
While their owners are away, pampered pets get temporary lodgings much comfier than a cage, thanks to the cat-friendly design of Dale Gatlin and Harriet Butts, the husband and wife who built and own Kitty Hill.

World's oldest man tells secrets of longevity
CARNEGIE, Oklahoma -- At 110, the oldest man, as declared by the Guinness Book of World Records, divulged some of the practices that have helped him live in three centuries.
Benjamin Harrison Holcomb said he always ate a big breakfast, cried a lot, rarely drank and never smoked.

'Footloose' with a side of Bacon
LAS VEGAS -- Sixteen years ago, Kevin Bacon was the young dancing fool of "Footloose." Now the movie is a musical, and Bacon returned for its premiere -- as a musician.
He and his brother Michael, who formed the aptly named Bacon Brothers band, performed at the Rio Hotel for the Vegas bow of "Footloose" on Thursday.

'Survivor' contestants: Tastes like chicken
NEW YORK -- To compete on the game show "Survivor," you'd better be able to stomach rats. The rodents, eager to nosh on the 10 contestants, soon became foodstuff themselves.
Rats came after them, during their first night on the desert island in the South China Sea, said contestant Sean Kenniff of Massapequa, New York. Rather than being the nibbled, the contestants turned into the nibblers.
