  • Ralph Kramden's back at the bus station

NEW YORK -- America's most beloved bus driver is being immortalized outside New York's Port Authority bus terminal.

An 8-foot-high, 1,000-pound statue of Jackie Gleason -- he was Brooklyn bus driver Ralph Kramden in TV's "The Honeymooners" -- was unveiled Monday.

TV Land, the cable channel that airs the 1950s comedy, commissioned the sculpture of the late comedy great, clad in a bus driver's uniform and carrying a lunchbox.

Bank robber uses gun and cell phone

LOS ANGELES -- More than 30 banks from San Diego to Sacramento over the past year have been robbed by a man using the same MO: He chats on his cell phone until he reaches the front of the line, then robs the bank with a gun.

Authorities identified the suspect as James Joseph Lizotte, a hairdresser who has allegedly dyed his hair brown and blond between robberies.

Small Illinois town shocked by alleged scam

MATTOON, Illinois -- A federal indictment charged 11 residents in this small town with allegedly participating in an investment scam that bilked at least 10,000 people out of at least $12.5 million.

Authorities were tipped off when local folks who held modest jobs started depositing large amounts of money in the bank and splurging on vacations and valuables. Those accused include business owners, a minister and a former sheriff's officer.

MOVIE OF THE WEEK: dishwasher washer

(CNN) -- A New Jersey man found that his dishwasher was making dishes filthy, instead of cleaning them.

Two years and half a million dollars later, Kevin Schmidt is trying to clean up -- literally and figuratively -- by selling a solution that washes dishwashers.
