Fish stabs man
ACAPULCO, Mexico -- A man fishing off the coast of Mexico Saturday was stabbed in the abdomen by a 10-foot swordfish he was in the process of catching.
According to his doctor, the giant marlin leapt from the waves into the boat, and sent it's sword completely through the man. On Monday he was treated and under hospital observation.

Arrest of cross-eyed grocer sends hundreds on rampage
TEHRAN, Iran -- When a judge had a cross-eyed grocer arrested Sunday for eyeing his wife while they were shopping, hundreds in the town of Ghir rioted, according to local journalists.
Protestors pelted government buildings with stones and torched three cars. Journalists said the acts were sparked by what the participants viewed as the judge's abuse of power.

Grandmother sentenced to quilting
DODGEVILLE, Wisconsin -- In December 1998, Betty Richmond was arrested for taking her 3-year-old grandson across state lines without consent from his parents.
Initially, she was sentenced to two years in prison, but that was reduced after Richmond began having health problems. Her new sentence requires her to make a child-themed quilt to be donated to a family advocacy group.

Monster mysteries continue to baffle Europe
(CNN) -- From creatures of the deep to massive mountain monsters, legends of shy prehistoric forms of wildlife persist throughout European culture and history.
Now Norway has a creature of its own -- "Selma," a fabled serpent which has caught the attention of an international team of monster hunters.
A giant trap for catching the creature, reputed to be a cousin of the Loch Ness monster, has been set up in a lake in south Norway.
