OK, Well I'm glad to hear this isn't just pure newbie inexperience on
my part.

I am able to run autopano-sift-c manually using the same command that
is reported in the wxExecute Error dialog, and get an output file
containing control points.

Furthermore, when I press the Align button on the Assistant tab of
Hugin so that Hugin runs sautopano-sift-c, the same output file is
produced, and that file does remain in place after Hugin has reported
its error and gone on with life, in other words, nobody deletes the
file after autopano-sift-c creates it.

The two control point files, whether I generate it manually or let
Hugin generate it, are identical (diff reports no diffs).

So... here's a question. If I can generate the file of control points
from autopano-sift-c, is there some way to tell Hugin to load it,
after Hugin throws its error?
