According to the portable apps site [0], a portable app should leave no traces after quitting. Of course this is just one definition, but in my opinion it is a preferable one. Hugin (I'm talking about the Windows version) *does* work when copied from one folder to another, but it will leave traces, mostly in the registry. Moreover, the registry approach prevents Hugin from running different configurations flawlessly on the same computer. While this is a slightly different discussion, using ini-files instead of the registry would both solve this issue and make the package truly portable.
