I don't really understand what the pictures represent, but I like what you said "It would be nice to have a similar table/matrix with all pairs of images and how they fit together (if they share no control points, this does not make much sense), so that I can see very quickly where there is some work to do.". Right now it's possible to see how 1 image goes with the others using the combo box in the control points tab and look at the color (between green and red). It would indeed be interesting to at once see all the pairs, how good or bad they are linked. A "remove all control points" for a specific pair that you know doesn't overlap could make things faster too.
