However, align_image_stack is slow and hardly outputs "run time info". You can easily wait more than a minute without anynithing seemingly to happen. If you go into Preferences and into the CPdetectors pane you can change the settings for align_image_stack. The linear option will most probably have as arguments: "-p %o %i" change that to "-v -v -p %o %i" and you will see a lot of output. Sorry, I have no clear answer to your second question. your questions now make me hesitate as well.
