Harry,
Thanks.
I should have said (confessed!) that I am STILL running Tiger on my
PPC G5 ... so I set the paths for the Tiger Enblend and Enfuse.
I successfully built a panorama yesterday - it was my usual style of
source images:
- 6 horizontal shots (16 mm Fisheye) at 60° intervals
+ one up and two down shots (with feet in different
places).
Each shot was a bracketed stack of three exposures.
As usual I had a LITTLE extra complexity - I had an extra stack
(shot at a completely different set of exposures) for one part of the
scene where the light was much brighter.
1. The good news
Well it is mostly good news ...
I used the Hugin masking to remove my feet from the down shots ... I
have to say that is LOVELY .... much easier than having to go back and
forth to Photoshop setting Alpha channels etc etc and I really like
the option of "include" and "exclude" masks - so a big "Thank you and
congratulations!" is due to whoever was involved in designing and
implementing that feature!
The fast preview window continues to be useful and effective
2. The bad news ... well slight unhappiness
I notice the X, Y and Z parameters have been added to the images
tab ... I am not sure which version they appeared on ... this may be
old news to people who have been keeping up better than I have.
I found that if I allowed the Optimise stage to adjust X, Y and Z that
the preview would go completely mad. When this happened I went back
to images tab and reset all the X, Y and Zs to 0 and the image would
come right again. By "completely mad" I mean that in the preview I got
a square in the middle that looked like my scene and to the right and
to the left there was a rectangle of a single colour - that I THINK
was taken from the scene.
Having reset the X, Y and Zs I just was careful to choose the optimise
options that left out X, Y and Z and the rest of the project went
smoothly.
So my questions are:
a) was the above problem just "operator error" on my part
b) if so is there an explanation of X, Y and Z somewhere?
c) am I right in assuming that X,Y and Z are part of the new Layout
tab that is to appear in a future release?
If this sounds like it might be a bug I can go back over it and get
you proper numbers and screen captures rather than loose descriptions.
all the best
George
