Thanks - yes that makes more sense than what I was starting to do ...
I still have MacOS X 10.4.11 along with Quicktime 7.6.4 on my old
startup disc.  So I was starting to think about copying  over THAT
version of the QTKit framework but when I started exploring they were
totally different sizes (the version 7.6.6 Framework was 4x the size
of the older one)  and it seemed implausible that they would be
interchangeable ...  but the one on my disc would be a Tiger (10.4)
Framework not a Leopard (10.5) Framework.  So your suggestion makes
more sense!

I have the download happening as I type this ... I will give it a try.
