Harry,

I followed your advice about unpacking the files from the Quicktime
Installer, moved the version 7.6.6 QTKit Framework to a safe place and
replaced it with the version 7.6.4 QTKit Framework. Then I ran
"Repair Permissions" ... that claimed to be doing things to QTKit but
while the permissions may have been fixed the Framework was still
owned by my login-id rather than by System. So I changed access to RW
for "Everyone" ... as the files I removed were owned by System and set
to RW for System.

The result was that when I ran a stitch (at a very small test
resolution) I had no crashes!

So this method of avoiding the problem works!

Either the permissions that I set were what was needed or else it
doesn't matter. I may try setting it back to Read Only for "Everyone"
and try again ... but it will be tomorrow!

Thank you very much for your help.

George
