This may be a problem that will have to wait for Harry to get back
from holiday ... or maybe someone else with a similar configuration to
mine will know something?
I recently updated my old PowerMac G5 in two ways and now Hugin will
not work. :-(
I was running Mac OS X 10.4.11 and have been putting off the upgrade
to 10.5, partly because the internal disc didn't have the spare space
needed.
So I first added a new larger internal disc (in the second SATA slot)
and then did a fresh install of Mac OS X 10.5 onto the empty disc,
telling the installer to draw files from the old internal disc in the
process. This worked well for mainstream Apple stuff and so, for
example, the Mail application has all my account settings, filtering
rules and old mail folders, and Safari 5.0 was installed with all my
old bookmarks and auto-completion data and login passwords etc.
When I ran Hugin it at first seemed OK ... I needed to change the
preferences for Enblend and Enfuse to STOP using the alternative
programs and instead use the bundled versions. Everything seemed to be
going well ... until I got to launching a "stitch" and then nona,
enfuse, and enblend all crashed with an error that looked much like
this in each case:
Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/QTKit.framework/
Versions/A/QTKit
Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/GLUT.framework/Versions/
A/GLUT
Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
/System/Library/Frameworks/QTKit.framework/Versions/A/QTKit: no
matching architecture in universal wrapper
/System/Library/Frameworks/QTKit.framework/Versions/A/QTKit: no
matching architecture in universal wrapper
Is anyone else running Hugin on a G5 under MacOS X 10.5? Assuming
that there is I may have created the problem in my installation/
upgrade process?
I tried installing a fresh copy of Hugin on the new system ... but as
that simply involves dragging the application to the Application
folder that has had no effect on the above Library/Framework.
I am assuming that this QTKit is Quicktime Kit? ... other Quicktime
related functionality, such as Quicktime Player, seem to be behaving
normally.
Any thoughts about how to proceed would be very welcome ...
George
