maybe ten minutes or so, I did not count the time.

I tried to keep the hair close to the string and also do the knots  
close to each other. As the horse hair's surface is rather rough the  
knots stay in form very well.

All that happends is that as the wheel is twisting the string, the row  
of knots gets turned to the side a bit.
