Jon, I installed these on my instrument last year. I posted some photos on line here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/9595...@n03/sets/72157607455029133/ Note that there are a few issues to watch out for. Those pegs are not designed for the thick strings we need for drones. The solution is to take a metal drill bit and drill the holes out larger than they come stock. It's not hard to do, but the pegs will get very hot while you do it. I keep a block of ice nearby to cool them on a few times while I drill them out. After going about half way through the pegs are hot enough to eat right into the ice block. But more to the point, I love the pegs. They eliminate the need for tourne a gauche entirely and make precise tuning very easy. For installation you'll need a peg reamer. If you have more questions about them, let me know. -arle On Jun 1, 2009, at 5:11 PM, Jon wrote: > > Anybody using these tuners - look like traditional ebony tuners, but > are mechanical with 4:1 ratio: > > http://www.hurdy-gurdy.org.uk/pegheds.html > > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "hurdygurdy" group.
