Hello all, I joined this group as I am interested in learning to play the hurdy gurdy. I am saving up to purchase my first one, though when I can't gauge at this point in time. I have made contact with local group and they suggested I sign up with this groups mailing list as well. My first instrument was the piano and I still play that as often as I can. My husband is also a highland pipe player and both of us were interested when we first heard a hurdy gurdy player at the Bristol Ren. Fair.
I have been referred to these two craftsmen for purchasing my first, though I am open for other suggestions: http://www.hurdygurdycrafters.com http://altarwind.com/hurdy/ Also do any of you have a suggestions for books that might help or even video that go through the basics of tuning and keys? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "hurdygurdy" group.
