If it's just the wooden flag that broke, we can send you a few more.

As with so many things on the hurdy-gurdy, there's a little dance to
fitting the flag-style trompette rest. If it's too tight, it's hard to move
and it makes a squeeky noise and it gets stressed so that it can break
off.  If it's too loose, it can vibrate out of place when you are playing
and engage the string when you don't want it.

There are many solutions to the trompette rest problem, but the flag-style
is our favorite so far - thanks to Marcello for introducing us to it.
