Greetings Red Hat Partners, We are pleased to announce the general availability (GA) of updated Red Hat Certification 4.8 and associated test suite package updates (listed below). This Red Hat Certification package update *is* an official release, superseding the previous GA version of the software, version 4.6, and should be used for all new Red Hat certification submissions. Successful results from the previous certification test suite will be accepted for a period of 90 days.
The updated Red Hat Certification packages listed below are available on the Red Hat Customer Portal at the following location: https://access.redhat.com/downloads/content/282/ redhat-certification-4.8-20170508.2.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-backend-4.8-20170508.2.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-cloud-4.8-20170508.2.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-openstack-4.8-20170508.2.el7.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-hardware-4.8-20170506.el6.noarch.rpm redhat-certification-hardware-4.8-20170506.el7.noarch.rpm This release includes enhancements and bug fixes as follows: * Support for Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) 11 Beta * Support for RHOSP Feature Based Certification Certification for Cinder, Manila, and Neutron OpenStack components is now based on supported features and protocols rather than Tempest API selections. This change clarifies the requirements for these certifications and affects new certifications on the currently supported RHOSP versions. The associated policy guide is also updated in support of this feature: Red Hat OpenStack Certification Policy Guide - https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_certification/11/html/red_hat_openstack_certification_policy_guide/ * Reorganized and Simplified Web UI The Red Hat Certification web UI for the local test server has been reorganized and simplified for a workflow focused directly on certification efforts. The revised UI has top-level pages for Certifications, Sandboxes, and Test Results. The Certifications page provides for download of all Red Hat Certifications currently in progress based on the account of the logged-in user. Creation of new certifications is streamlined, and vendor product information has been integrated in certification views. The associated workflow guides are also updated in support of this feature: Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider Certification Workflow Guide - https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_certified_cloud_and_service_provider_certification/1.0/html/red_hat_certified_cloud_and_service_provider_certification_workflow_guide/certification_workflow#certification-workflow-overview Hardware Certification Workflow Guide - https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux_hardware_certification/1.0/html/test_suite_user_guide/ Red Hat OpenStack Certification Workflow Guide - https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_certification_test_suite/11/html/red_hat_openstack_certification_workflow_guide/ Other Changes and Enhancements: * The network port subtest in redhat-certification-cloud’s Configuration test criteria is updated to confirm ports, open ports and services. * The redhat-certification-cloud Supportable software repo sub-test provides more detailed report in terms of status (enabled/disabled) and gpg setting for each repo. * The test suite version check is relaxed to allow uploads of results created with no-longer-supported versions of redhat-certification to simplify the debugging process. * Cloud and OpenStack Supportable subtest RPM verify is updated to show more details explanation to display failures based on their type. * rhcert-cli tagging mechanism is improved, to support new tags: ‘neutron’, ‘cinder’ and ‘manila’. * Hardware certification virtualization testing has been updated to use newer versions of redhat-certification-backend and redhat-certification-hardware for guest testing. Please see the mail sent on May 16th with the subject "Updated Red Hat Hardware Certification Data Image Transfer Package Available for RHEL 7" for more information. * The rhcert-ci command now supports the --tag option, allowing CI testing to easily cover all tests for a specific certification type.
