SU700 ?? I find it to Linear ..but a really fat sound.  Hard to be
spontaneous with it - It only has song mode which unlike MPC limits you to
strict pre-sequencing of tunes.  MPC can loop individual sequences and you
can pull them in and out at will - SU has great, really great FX as its
basically an A3000 in a desktop box - MPC may be a little harder to learn,
and not as many bells and whistles, and maybe not always friendly/logical
to use, but ultimately a more flexible machine.  In my store here, I sell
10 to 12 mpc's to every
SU700 or ASRX - and thats not me, so much as customers knowing what they
want - when most live electronic and rock/backing loop acts swear by the
MPC, you got to wonder !!!
