ahh where to start. The ask is better for me for a couple of reasons. When i
was shopping for a sampler the 2 things i was definetly looking for were
price and synthesis capabilities. In the Synthesis end of things the
kurzweil are kings. hands down. but they usually start new at about 3 or 4
times what i payed for my a3k. and finding them used is almost a difficult
as finding a used A3000. No other sample in the yamaha's price range has the
rich set of features that it has (comprehensive modulation routing, robust
Sysex, internal resampling, massive FX, massive Filters, midi syncable lfo,
and when im not sampling i just run my FX returns on my mixer through the
a3k and blam all them FX are now a totally midi controllable FX processor,
the list could go on easy). Not to mention the insane online support group
that has grown up around it. within a week of buying a Peavey 1600x i was
controlling wild things with sysex on it, due solely to the sweat and work
of people before me. its was awesome. i have had this box for about 1.5
years now and im constantly doing new tricks with it.

I don't mean to sound trite but all a3k owners have said to me is "get
one!".
Why? What makes it that much better?
