>From what I have gathered, the A3K sample library is quite small when
compared to the Emu's. The ESI4000 can import the old Emu libraries, as well
as all of the new ones (they support alot of 3rd party companies), as well as
Akai's sample libraries. I got a quote for an ESI4000 for $1350 for a new
ESI4000 Turbo Zip. This place is more expensive (obviously) than your
discount shops, but I don't mind paying a little extra fom the service I get
(trust me, it is the best I have ever seen). Plus, it comes with a dump load
of sample CD's. The untouched basic A3K is more expensive. The FX may not
be as numerous, but the Emu's are generally known as the best sounding
samplers around. Something very important.
It can't resample, but thats fine with me. I don't need the sequencer as I
have a RM1X - which I love by the way. Even if the A3K comes down to 1k new,
to get the specs that the Emu has, you are looking at spending alot more
money. To me, the Emu is just a better value.
