okay, i can accept that.  i have a workaround (quick mapping).

now, another conundrum, which is a bit OT:

I am writing patterns in Cakewalk 9 in order to later offload them to the
RM1X.  I have the sync working, controller data sending, but I can't seem
to get Rebirth to listen to a Note message (for pattern switching).  Has
anyone got a technique to share?
