Well to avoid dissapointment I would recommend to play an
instrument first before deciding to purchase it.

Although I can see your point, the current reality is very
different in this day of vapor/betaware. Therefore I would
recommend only purchasing a product for what it can do now,
and not part with your money in the hope that promises of
future upgrades will be met.

It is sad, but from my experience with my EX5, Yamaha, like
so many other companies, do not listen to their customers
anymore. However I still bought the RM1x from Yamaha because
it fulfills my needs today. Any future upgrade I view as a
bonus.
