I'm grasping the whole MIDI concept pretty well, but I have 2 *BIG* [but
basic] questions :-)
#1) A buddy of mine came over and we were hooking up my midi gear.. I
want to make sure I have it right..
RM1x MIDI OUT -> AN1x MIDI IN
AN1x MIDI OUT -> RM1x MIDI IN
AN1x MIDI THRU ----> Midiman 3x8 MIDI IN -OUT-> Virus MIDI IN
-OUT-> Nord Lead 2 MIDI IN
-OUT-> Korg Electribe-R MIDI IN
-OUT-> Yamaha A3000 MIDI IN
The down side to this is that turning the knobs on the Virus or Nord
Lead 2 means the MIDI information isn't being recorded. For now I'm
just settling for being able to play instruments via MIDI. I think the
AN1x can control information about like Resonance on the Virus and Nord
Lead 2, but I'm not sure.
#2) The RM1x has 16 midi channels. I have 7 midi devices so 16 channels
doesn't feel like it's going to go very far. My buddy mentioned some
sequencers have A 1-16, B 1-16, C 1-16, and D 1-16 essentially giving
you 4 x 16 = 64 channels of midi. Is there any hint/tip/trick for doing
this on the RM1x? If I remember right, this was one of the complaints
about the RM1x - it doesn't have multiple outs.......?
