Actually -

the layla was a complete nightmare.  It just didn't work with my system, any
system with any sort of 3d card in it will give you trouble unless you crank
the hardware enhancements all the way down.  I've found Event cards to be
nothing but trouble on three seperate systems but I can say this - their
tech support staff are top notch and very friendly.

I guess in the end a stable sequencing environment was worth more to me than
being able to record 8 channels of poorly-timed simpleton beats.  Now my
simpleton beats are perfectly timed! :)
