i'll second that emotion! i got a layla in early '99 & spent a good 3 months
troubleshooting why it made my PC running windows 98 crash, then got rid of
it. it seemed like at that time, at least, when both layla and win 98 were
pretty new, event/echo didn't have their act together releasing proper
drivers... & i got the sense that their tech support crew knew less than i
did--and annoyingly, they kept trying to pass the blame off on the place
where i bought my PC.

anyway, i used my little QY70 to hold down sequencing duties for a few
months during PC/layla nightmares, and then eventually got an RM1x & it's
been clear sailing ever since!

so congrats on your purchase, switch flipper :)

you said you have an A-sampler, right? i think you'll find the RM1x is an
excellent companion to it--doing live tweaking of A3k FX & filters with the
RM1x knobs is most joyful
