This bug was introduced with rev 452, when I added the Ardour bug compensation
as an option.

I also noticed another double-hit issue (rev 451 and before).  In a new H2 
session, if you set H2 as the transport master in Song mode... the first time 
you hit play you will get a double-hit.  But, we need to fix the bug in rev 
452, 
first.  :-)

If so... I guess it got lost in translation.  This message says to me:  "I
tested Ardour 2.7 and it looks like they fixed their problem."  :-)  If you 
mean 
a different message, I guess I missed it.
